Alaska: River Trip with Jon {aka mad crazy river guide}

So this morning we met up with Jon to go on a river trip roughly an hour outside of Anchorage.  We knew that he was a tour guide so we expected something pretty mellow and laid back, suited for touristy types trying to "experience" Alaska.

EENNNNNTT! Before we knew it, we were blazing around bends, through log jams, around soundbars, and narrowly escaping boulders.  It was AMAZING!  It was hard for us to keep up; Brent and I were desperately trying to take it all in and snapping shots while still attempting to stay fastened to the boat!  At one point, there was a freakin' humongo bald eagle soaring 100 yards ahead of us - the only thing lacking was the column of light breaking through the clouds accompanied by angelic voices.  It was that kind of ride.

Before we know it, we have climbed 1800 feet of elevation and the river opens up into an incredibly majestic lake with mountains and glaciers spilling into it.  So so so incredible.

What an amazing few days.  It started off with a stylish wedding dinner down at the Hidden Valley Country Club and ended with an incredible day at the Salt Lake temple and reception at Heritage Gardens.  Nothing but love for these two and their families.  We feel very blessed to have been able to participate in this wedding and get to know Caitlin & Hugh.  They are such stellar people and we couldn't be happier for them.  Best of luck in Texas!

Hinton boys {p}

Good ol' Andrew and Jackson.  Not sure if the parentals are simply avid fans of the seventh U.S. President or if they simply just favor the individual names (my guess is the latter).  Regardless, these two are a non-stop riot!  With only minutes of good behavior, I just tried to shoot as much as possible before these two started playing tag and diving in the kiddy pool (yes, with the nice clothes on).  These two were undoubtedly cut from the same cloth as me! 

These were taken for some good friends, Kevin & Alicia, right before they packed up to move down south to Arizona.  We will surely miss this stellar family and hope that we will see them sometime soon!

8 months of love

8 months of love....and i have enjoyed every minute of it.  Ever since she started sporting the striped two-piece jammers, she's turned into a blur of energy.  Can't wait to see what comes next...
